Went to Cracker Barrel tonight for dinner. Hey, don’t knock it til you try it – they have a pretty decent grilled rainbow trout.

January 26, 2011Construction Zone
January 25, 2011Sneak peek of the construction that’s going on in my house. The angle of my lens was not wide enough to capture the whole room, but I promise you there is a built-in bookshelf just to the right of this window that will be flanked by some ever-so-lovely wall sconces. My husband did all this – because he is awesomely talented and because I made pouty faces until he agreed to.
We’ve got a crapload of work still to do…sand and refinish floors, another coat of paint on walls and trim, lighting fixtures, etc. And that’s just in this room alone. I’ll spare you the boring details of the punchlist for all the other rooms.
Yes, that’s a chip clip holding down my temporary paper blinds, don’t be jealous.

January 24, 2011Don’t ever know exactly what to do with my lens cap. Thinking of buying one of these boogers…Hufa
What do you do with your lens caps?

January 19, 2011While headed to my knit night, I decided to play around with my shutter speed and try to capture some tail and headlight streaks on the road. I used the hood of my car as a tripod while I attempted several shots at varying speeds. Trust me, this was the best of the bunch. Getting those awesome looking street streaks is much harder than it appears. I will definitely try this technique again when I have more time, but my knitting needles were burning a hole in my knitting bag! And I was getting some mighty strange looks from the patrons of the Quiznos I was standing by. Apparently, sub-eaters are cautious of women with knitting bags and cameras in parking lots.
I didn’t take as much time as I should with the shot. A bit disappointed. Wednesdays are always a hard day for me to take photos.

January 15, 2011Jason and I were out and about most of the day, so we had to eat both breakfast and dinner out. We naughtily skipped lunch
which is a major no-no considering I am trying to lose some pounds. We did eat dinner at our favorite place in Savannah, The Noodle Bowl.
Jason had Pho while I tried the Singapore Laksa which was to die for, really, I mean this Noodle Bowl place rocks. If ever in Savannah, you gotta go.
Oh, and I included a used up tea bag from this morning’s breakfast….just because….

January 14, 2011Let Sleeping Dog Lie
January 13, 2011After yesterday’s post, I began thinking more about LillyDee’s fur.
She got a whole heap of it and doesn’t mind leaving bits of it all around the house. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t think her day is through until every inch of our sofa is covered in a thin layer of her released hair.
I clicked a quick one of her while she slept. I like the way her coat from this angle almost looks like an alien terrain.

Hot Dog
January 12, 2011Wednesday night is Pooler Purls night.
Pooler Purls is the weekly knitting group at The Guild.
Jason brought along his dog fur hat and was kind enough to model it for us. I’ve read about knitting with dog fur, but haven’t had the opportunity to see and touch a dog fur garment until tonight.
It’s totally awesome – with all LillyDee’s hair hanging around the house I could make sweaters for everyone in my extended family!

Bright Idea
January 11, 2011Coming Out
January 10, 2011I’m coming out.
Out of the pantry.
I hate cooking.
Absolutely hate it.
Luckily Jason seems to like it well enough to keep us both fed.
Here’s a peek into my pantry. We’ve recently made the switch from canned tomatoes to these.

Hilton Head
January 9, 2011We went out to Hilton Head today for a quick walk. Took a few snaps of Jason while there, but overall my pics came out way too dark. Need to figure out why…we plan to go back next weekend, so I will try to take more while there and get some better beach shots. We’ll take LillyDee with us and let her run wild.
