Thought I’d take my camera along as I picked up a few things from the grocery store.
By the way, Ezekiel cereal with a splash of almond milk…..mmmm….now that’s some good stuff.

Food for Thought
January 27, 2011More Fun than a Barrel Full of Crackers
January 26, 2011Went to Cracker Barrel tonight for dinner. Hey, don’t knock it til you try it – they have a pretty decent grilled rainbow trout.

Construction Zone
January 25, 2011Sneak peek of the construction that’s going on in my house. The angle of my lens was not wide enough to capture the whole room, but I promise you there is a built-in bookshelf just to the right of this window that will be flanked by some ever-so-lovely wall sconces. My husband did all this – because he is awesomely talented and because I made pouty faces until he agreed to.
We’ve got a crapload of work still to do…sand and refinish floors, another coat of paint on walls and trim, lighting fixtures, etc. And that’s just in this room alone. I’ll spare you the boring details of the punchlist for all the other rooms.
Yes, that’s a chip clip holding down my temporary paper blinds, don’t be jealous.

Nikonoclastic
January 24, 2011Don’t ever know exactly what to do with my lens cap. Thinking of buying one of these boogers…Hufa
What do you do with your lens caps?

Going to the Chapel
January 23, 2011Hands down the best photo weekend ever. I know I’ve promised in the past couple of days to give some updates, but after a weekend like this…well, geez, I am pooped! Took this one downtown today at St. John’s.

Grave Consequences
January 22, 2011Still no time to fill you in on all the details of this weekend, but I did end up in Bon Adventure Cemetery today.

‘Night, Savannah…
January 21, 2011Spent the evening downtown doing something really fun and exciting! Will keep you in suspense until tomorrow….in the meantime, I tried another slow shutter speed shot.

Vanity Fair
January 20, 2011Pic of my earrings on my bathroom vanity. Short & sweet tonight people….going to be early….zzzzzzz…..

Small Town Fri, um…Wednesday Night
January 19, 2011While headed to my knit night, I decided to play around with my shutter speed and try to capture some tail and headlight streaks on the road. I used the hood of my car as a tripod while I attempted several shots at varying speeds. Trust me, this was the best of the bunch. Getting those awesome looking street streaks is much harder than it appears. I will definitely try this technique again when I have more time, but my knitting needles were burning a hole in my knitting bag! And I was getting some mighty strange looks from the patrons of the Quiznos I was standing by. Apparently, sub-eaters are cautious of women with knitting bags and cameras in parking lots.
I didn’t take as much time as I should with the shot. A bit disappointed. Wednesdays are always a hard day for me to take photos.

Knot Yet Finished
January 18, 2011I’m trying to start being more consistent with my knitting. You know, not going 6 months between knitting projects, that sort of thing. So I’ve started the ever-popular Gap-tastic Cowl found on Ravelry. This yarn has a weird sheen to it making the photos look a tiny bit odd.

Damper on my Evening
January 17, 2011Had plans to ride my bike as soon as I got home….but…..it’s a bit cold and damp out tonight. Bummer.

Pedal to the Metal
January 16, 2011Today’s been absolutely beautiful with the temps warming up quite a bit from yesterday. I took advantage of the good weather and put my feet to my bike pedals.

Soup’s On
January 15, 2011Jason and I were out and about most of the day, so we had to eat both breakfast and dinner out. We naughtily skipped lunch
which is a major no-no considering I am trying to lose some pounds. We did eat dinner at our favorite place in Savannah, The Noodle Bowl.
Jason had Pho while I tried the Singapore Laksa which was to die for, really, I mean this Noodle Bowl place rocks. If ever in Savannah, you gotta go.
Oh, and I included a used up tea bag from this morning’s breakfast….just because….

We Had a Ball
January 14, 2011It’s crazy cold here, but we decided to take LillyDee out for a spin and toss the ball around. These are night shots and the long exposure made it impossible to get LillyDee in focus, but I kinda like the end result anyways! Let me know what you think….

Let Sleeping Dog Lie
January 13, 2011After yesterday’s post, I began thinking more about LillyDee’s fur.
She got a whole heap of it and doesn’t mind leaving bits of it all around the house. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t think her day is through until every inch of our sofa is covered in a thin layer of her released hair.
I clicked a quick one of her while she slept. I like the way her coat from this angle almost looks like an alien terrain.

Hot Dog
January 12, 2011Wednesday night is Pooler Purls night.
Pooler Purls is the weekly knitting group at The Guild.
Jason brought along his dog fur hat and was kind enough to model it for us. I’ve read about knitting with dog fur, but haven’t had the opportunity to see and touch a dog fur garment until tonight.
It’s totally awesome – with all LillyDee’s hair hanging around the house I could make sweaters for everyone in my extended family!

Bright Idea
January 11, 2011Building on one of my previous post featuring the light of my mirror, I went in close on a light bulb filament.
Coming Out
January 10, 2011I’m coming out.
Out of the pantry.
I hate cooking.
Absolutely hate it.
Luckily Jason seems to like it well enough to keep us both fed.
Here’s a peek into my pantry. We’ve recently made the switch from canned tomatoes to these.

Hilton Head
January 9, 2011We went out to Hilton Head today for a quick walk. Took a few snaps of Jason while there, but overall my pics came out way too dark. Need to figure out why…we plan to go back next weekend, so I will try to take more while there and get some better beach shots. We’ll take LillyDee with us and let her run wild.

Go Fish
January 8, 2011Spec-tacular!
January 7, 2011Picked up my new specs today….I was really hoping for x-ray vision, but I guess I’ll settle for 20/20.

Mirror, Mirror

January 2, 2011Happy New Year!
January 1, 2011This year I’ll attempt to complete a 365 project. I hear it helps improve your photo skills and Lord knows I need all the help I can get. So off we go….

Worldwide Photowalk
July 25, 2010On Saturday, I joined 30,000 photographers around the world for the third annual Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk.
Hot and humid doesn’t adequately describe downtown Savannah – by lunchtime I was done and couldn’t get home (and to air conditioning) fast enough. My photos are a bit sucky and I’d like to blame the extreme heat for my poor images, but I think I was simply too tired to get really into the photowalk this year. Or maybe I’m making excuses for my lacking photo skills?
